One of the easiest ways of improving male fertility and boost your chances of conceiving a boy is to avoid heat! What exactly do we mean by this? Well, heat is the enemy of sperm.. heat damages sperm production and therefore reduces good sperm count and decreases male fertility.

You might wonder where heat comes from. Some good examples are hot baths, hot showers, wearing tight underwear or clothing, and cycling (the friction in the saddle area causes heat in the groin area). Any of these things can dramatically increase the amount of heat in the male groin area and damage the production of sperm.

It’s a little known fact that fighter pilots have to go on long term leave when they are planning a family, as the flight suits they wear cause heat which damages sperm. So it takes time for sperm production to get back to normal.

So if you’re trying to conceive a boy, it’s a good plan to avoid or minimise any activity which can increase heat and damage sperm production. The good news is that sperm production can be brought back to normal levels after around 3 months, meaning that avoiding heat sources for a while will reverse the damage.
