Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD for short), is a procedure used to screen embryos. It was conceived in order to help couples with history of diseases in their families to ensure that they had a healthy baby by screening embryos.
More recently, however, it has been used to select the sex of a baby by doing sperm sorting in order to separate male and female sperm.
Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis is an effective method of helping you to conceive a boy, but it’s very, very expensive. It has a success rate of approximately 70% in selecting the gender of your baby.
